Tom Burditt was born in Rutland, Vermont, in 1956. He graduated from Rutland High School in 1974 and subsequently became a partner in Vaillancourt Tree-Landscape, where he remained until 2001. Burditt has been an active member of the International Society of Arboriculture and Elm Research Institute since 1977 and holds a Vermont Pesticides Applicator certification from the same year. He transitioned to operating Tom Burditt's Rx Lawn systems in 2002 and has served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives since 2011.
