Samantha Poetter was raised in Paola, Kansas, where her parents owned a restaurant. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and government from Kansas State University. Poetter began her career with an undergraduate internship in the office of the Secretary of State of Kansas, followed by a role as a campaign staffer for Senator Pat Roberts. She later served as communications director for Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Poetter chaired Kansans for Conservative Values in 2016 and has served on the Kansas House of Representatives Committee Assignments since 2021.
