She began her career in education, working in various roles within the Tucson Unified School District, Tempe Elementary Schools, Arizona State University, and the University of Arizona. Gonzales has extensive experience in program management, having served as a program manager for Arizona State University’s Center for Indian Education and Arizona Tri-Universities for Indian Education. Additionally, she has coordinated significant projects such as Manos a la Vida and the Bedouin-Yaqui Project at the University of Arizona. Gonzales has also held leadership positions, including serving on the board of the Pima Prevention Partnership and currently as president of Guadalupe Affordable Housing Inc.
