Matthew Martinez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Science in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy. He began his career in public service as a Senior Class President in high school and later served in the United States Marine Corps, participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing his military service, Martinez transitioned into local politics, being elected to the Monte Vista City Council. He then spent seven years as Veterans and Military Affairs Coordinator at Adams State University, leveraging his military background to support veterans. His academic and professional experiences culminated in his election as Representative for Colorado House District 62 and subsequently as House Majority Caucus Co-Whip.
