Personal Background
Mae Flexer graduated from Killingly High School and earned an associate's degree from Quinebaug Valley Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. At age 18, Flexer joined the Democratic Town Committee, and by age 23, was elected as one of the youngest Town Committee Chairwoman in the state. Flexer then served as a legislative aide for the Connecticut Senate President, accumulating three years of experience before being elected as a state representative in 2008.
