Kathleen Donovan graduated from Queen of Peace High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University-Newark, as well as a Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University College of Law. Early in her career, she served as a part-time public defender for Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and represented the 36th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly, where she chaired the State Regulatory Efficiency Committee and served on the Environmental Quality Committee. Donovan later chaired the New Jersey Republican State Committee and held the position of Bergen County Clerk for multiple terms, overseeing various county services and election functions. She also served as a Board of Commissioners member and Chairwoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, managing significant infrastructure and transit systems.
