He enlisted in the United States Army following the September 11 attacks, serving until a severe injury from a mortar attack in Iraq led to his honorable discharge in 2008. After returning to Minnesota, Revak relocated to Alaska, where he worked as a military and veterans affairs liaison and political advisor for Congressman Don Young. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University and was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2018, subsequently nominated to the Alaska Senate in 2019.
