Joseph A. Lagana holds a B.A. in history from Fordham University and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He began his career as a clerk for a Superior Court judge and later became a partner at a law firm in Secaucus. Lagana transitioned into public service, serving on the Ridgefield planning board and eventually winning a seat on the Paramus borough council. He subsequently became council president and a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, where he served as the Assembly's deputy parliamentarian. Lagana was appointed to the New Jersey Senate in 2018 and won a special election later that year. He currently works as an attorney.
