Personal Background
Jerry Costello graduated from a Catholic high school and holds a bachelor's degree from Maryville College of the Sacred Heart. He began his career in law enforcement, serving in various roles within St. Clair County, Illinois, including as a court bailiff, deputy sheriff, and director of court services and probation. Costello also worked as a chief investigator for the Illinois State Attorney’s office. He transitioned into local politics, being elected as chair of the St. Clair County Board, a position he held until his election to the House.
