Harold Lovre holds a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College and a J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law. He began his career in law and public service as a state's attorney, later serving as president of the State Board of Agriculture and in the South Dakota Senate. Lovre also held leadership roles within the Republican Party before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served for nearly a decade. Post his congressional tenure, he returned to private legal practice.
