George O'Brien completed his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Detroit, followed by admission to the bar in 1924. He began his legal practice in Detroit and later served in Congress, representing Michigan's 13th district across multiple terms. O'Brien held significant roles in Congress, including Chairman of the Committee on the Post Office and Post Roads. After his congressional career, he worked as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia until his passing.
