He began his civic engagement early, participating in Massachusetts American Legion Boys State and representing Massachusetts at American Legion Boys Nation in 1992. Vieira has held a continuous role in local governance, serving as a Falmouth Town Meeting Member from 1997 to 1998 and as Moderator of the Falmouth Town Meeting since 1998. Currently, he is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 3rd Barnstable district.
